Tuesday December 1, 2009TLA = "Three Letter Acronym"
TLA's are featured in this month's Video "Appisode." Here are a few of my favorites TLA's.
CRM = Customer Relationship Management - defined about 4 inches above.
CMS = Content Management System - Usually something you use to manage the pages on your website.
SEO = Search Engine Optimization - The way you build your website so that search engines gobble the pages up and show them to visitors ahead of your competition.
SEM = Search Engine Marketing - A form of Internet Marketing where you basically pay for clicks, placements, and advertising for your website's visibility.
CDN = Content Delivery Network - A way to distribute your website content (images, videos, documents) so they are served from the nearest server to your your visitor. (The big boys do this and the technique is used on this newsletter too)

Cash for Clunkers (web edition)
This is not another government program, but a way to trade up your website clunker to one that provides value and benefits to your customers.
Why would someone visit your website? To read your mission statement? Doubtful. Your website is your company's "handshake." Have a look at our November 2009 Video
"Appisode" that shows how firm the handshake of Venyu's Amerivault site is.

Free Shipping for HighPower Peeps
High Power teamed up with LSU and TAF to bring AlexBoxAuctions.NET where you can buy your old seats, artifacts, and even dirt out of the old Alex Box Stadium.
For the next few days, by adding "freeship" to your order at checkout, our newsletter members can get free shipping. The items on the site make great Christmas gifts whether your house has a "Man-Cave" or not.

Don't lose that lead! Use a CRM
Did you know it takes 8.5 separate contacts before closing a lead? Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is specific software that allows a company to measure and control contacts with customers. Salesforce is one of the most popular CRM providers around and plays well with others.
Venyu's website allows prospects to fill out online quote requests for their backup service. This information goes straight into Salesforce without rekeying and is routed to correct salesperson for immediate handling. They never miss a lead nor a chance for follow-up.
